Broad content of the role

Software engineers within the G&NS  group are responsible for development and support of Networking Services – L2/L3 Layer protocols on Symbian OS for mobile devices.

Key tasks

As a member of the group you will be involved in development in all parts of the software lifecycle including requirement analysis, work breakdown, estimating, design, coding, unit and integration test coding, defect fixing, and supporting the project.   Responsibilities for this role include:

·    Assisting the Project Manager and Technology Architect preparing detailed requirements for projects based on high-level requirements

·    Developing designs that meet the project’s high-level and detailed requirements

·    Providing work breakdown estimates based on the designs

·    As part of the team implementing work packages to specification, on time and to quality expectations

·    Reviewing the designs and code of your peers on the project

·    Supporting and maintaining software releases

·    Contributing to the design and development of unit and integration tests and test harnesses

·    Contributing to process improvement

·    Project maintenance keeping track of reported defects and providing fixes for them

·    Customer Support. Be able to provide prompt responses to internal & external project customers’ enquiries to facilitate the design work based on the deliveries of the project, and, wherever possible, ensure the project objectives reflect submitted change requests and suggestions

JOB DESCRIPTION: Device Driver Development (Embedded Linux/ Symbian/ Nucleus/ VxWorks)

Exp: 3 – 5 yrs
Location: Bangalore

  • Proficiency in C programming
  • Advanced embedded and OS concepts
  • Good knowledge of any hardware architecture & programming such as ARM, TI OMAP etc
  • Base porting and low level device drivers development/maintenance/porting on embedded Linux or Symbian or any other RTOS such as Nucleus, VxWorks
  • Working knowledge of software and hardware debugging tools (JTAG, Lauterbach, etc)
  • Code Composure Studio familiarity and Clearquest and Clearcase experience
