Job Description: Senior Software Engineer-QA
SupportSoft India is looking for a Senior Software Engineer-QA who will be responsible for and provide advise on the entire testing lifecycle activities like reviewing requirements, analyzing competitor products, developing test plan, design and perform test automation, collecting metrics, analyzing metrics and taking corrective and preventive measures as needed.
1. Plan, implement and track the sanity, functional, regression, upgrade, deployment, configuration and performance tests for SupportSoft products.
2. Responsible for reviewing requirements, analyzing competitor products, developing test plan, designing and performing test automation, reporting product health, collecting and analyzing metrics to enable process improvement by taking necessary corrective and preventive measures.
3. Mentoring the team members on both technical and behavioral aspects as needed.
4. Track and analyze results of the tests and work closely with the software developers
5. Use existing test tools and implement new tools as necessary. Keep appraised of technical tools and processes relating to testing.
6. Plan for the necessary test environment required such as OS, Browsers, Modem etc.,
7. Communicate testing status and issues on a regular basis adhering to the existing processes.
8. Cultivate strong working relationships with co-workers and individual contributors who serve in a lesser organizational capacity.
9. Participate in interviewing and hiring practices as directed and advised by manager and/or VP of People Innovation.
10. Understand the basics of SupportSoft proprietary technology architecture as well as industry technologies used to build the SPRT products. When requested, interface with the product marketing, global services team and Customer/Partners to address issues in the field.
11. Involving in direct customer interactions, UAT testing, and reporting. Also should take the responsibility in reviewing the designs and providing suggestions for enhancements.
1. B.E/B.Tech/MCA/M.Tech/M.E from an accredited university or college (domestic or International) with a minimum of 4 years experience in the software industry.
2. Knowledge of Web Application Testing in conjunction with Industry Standards for Stress and Load.
3. Must be proficient in Quality Assurance processes and methodologies.
4. Must be proficient in bug tracking and testing tools and source control systems.
5. Excellent written, verbal, presentation communication skills. 6. Must be able to read and interpret complex information, talk with Customer/Partners and listen attentively.
7. Programming ability in one or more of Scripting, HTML, ASP/JSP, Perl, VBScript, JavaScript, XML, UNIX or Win32.
8. Experience with WAST, ACT or other Test Automation Tools is a plus.
9. Assertive self-starter with excellent organizational skills.
