If you have the zest and the attitude to work on the challenge of testing GUI frameworks then the Java SE quality organization has a place for you.
Join a team of professionals working on qualifying new releases of Java on the client side (Swing/AWT/2D) and on the exciting JavaFX technology.
You will have to develop tests to qualify the new features that get bundled in a Java 2 standard edition (Java SE) and JavaFX.
Your primary focus will be on testing Java client components such as 2D/3D Graphics, Swing, AWT and JavaFX desktop.
You will have to work with developers closely to understand the features and identify functional test scenarios that requires to be tested for the release.
This involves researching the scope of the task, reviewing design specifications, developing test specification, developing automated tests, code reviews and developing test procedures.
You must constantly be on the lookout for more innovative and smarter ways to test Graphical User interfaces.
You should explore smart ways to automate Graphics and Media based applications over numerous flavours of OS and hardware combinations.
You will maintain product test suites, fix test bugs, develop/fix Java/JavaFX Demos/Samples and blog about the technology.
Looking at bug trends,figuring out coverage holes and enhancing test suites are expectations.
Test Development/Execution are integral parts of Testing organization with the goal of shipping a stable product. You should have a flair to look for continuous improvements in both these areas.

SKILLS REQUIRED

Essential Skills :

* Good Understanding of Quality Engineering Principles, Methodologies, Processes and Tools.

* Coding knowledge in Java is mandatory.

* Knowledge of shell scripting is required

* Strong Technical knowledge in GUI automation strategies.

* Experience in development and implementation of test plans, standards, automation, and quality metrics.

* Experience with different testing methodologies (functional, APIs, stress, reliability, coverage, interoperability, and performance).

* Good knowledge of Solaris, Windows, Mac and Linux.

* Ability to work on long projects and with moderate supervision.

* Should be passionate about testing and willing to explore technologies.

* Should be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

* Must be team-oriented and yet be capable of working largely on your own with minimum supervision

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice to have skills:

* Software Product testing experience.

* Proficiency with white-box testing techniques.

* Exposure to RIA tools like Flash, Flex & ActionScript

* Experience with Agile, SCRUM development process

Qualifications:
B.E/B.Tech/MCA with 4 to 7 years experience in software testing
