Position:Technical Manager – SW Quality Validation of Network Processor/Networking Products.

Position Reports to Technical Director
(Direct Reporting)

Industry Experience: 12+ years of software quality assurance experience validating production-level embedded and networking software products with at least 6 years in a SQA leadership role.. The qualified candidate will have strong knowledge of networking protocols and products, QA methodologies and processes. Should have very good people management and project management skills with good leadership qualities and motivational skills to lead and build SQA team.

Domain Knowledge : Processor architectures, Networking protocols, Software Architecture and  design,  Networking protocols, network applications, validation and testing of network products/software, Network Processors (NP) and systems built using NP’s. Apart from networking products like switches/routers/MSAD, knowledge of NAS products is an added advantage.

Required Skills (one or more): Project management, managing multiple projects, good network product and technological knowledge, in-depth knowledge of network protocols and network application development, knowledge of QA methodologies and QA tools. Excellent communication skills oral and written. Should demonstrate skills in people management as well as in leading and growing SW QA team.

Experience in managing a team of QA and Validation engineers in the Networking domain is a must for this position.

Desirable skills: Knowledge of various NP’s in the market.

Managerial skills: Ability to lead a team of engineers in executing the projects and identifying customer insights and technological innovations and integrate these to deliver customer needs.

General Summary of the Role:

This is a Senior Management position and the selected individual will oversee the working of his/her team, consisting of Project Managers, Leads and Engineers with different levels of experience.  All members of the centre strive towards

• Making sure that all the deliverables are made with the required quality as per the project schedules and project requirements.
• Continuously working on leveraging and developing the skills within the team meeting the project/BU needs.

The major responsibilities are to:

• Develop and execute the vision, roadmaps and project execution strategy. This includes building a highly competent technical team and providing the appropriate infrastructure, tools and processes that will create an environment of success.
• He/She must encourage creativity while ensuring a commercial and customer focus.
• Proactively lead the team in identifying customer insights and technological innovations and integrate these to deliver customer needs.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for meeting project milestones and customer commitments.  Projects must be kept on track, on time and on budget.
• Being a member of the local Senior Leadership Team (SLT), need to work collaboratively with the other members of SLT to define the company strategy and develop customer relationships.

The role of the selected candidate will, therefore, be to:
• Manage and motivate a team of highly skilled work-force to deliver on time high quality products which are in consonance with world-wide requirements of the organisation
• Co-ordinate resource allocation, activities and roles between the various functions.
• Continuously evaluate division performance and identify opportunities for improvement.

Required skills
• A proven track record of strong technical leadership, performance and managerial skills, in the telecommunications or communications sector.
• Experience in building a highly technical team in a fast growing organisation. This includes:
• Creating and communicating a vision and motivating staff to deliver results.
• Creating and nurturing an environment of creativity and innovation.
• Recruiting, training, coaching & developing staff.
• Generating continuous improvement in staff performance and organizational effectiveness
• Demonstrated experience in building world-class products and experimenting with cutting edge technology.
• A strong understanding of the Product Life Cycle and experience in managing release schedules.

• To streamline current development and systems with the objective of reducing cycle time and making them more customer friendly and of higher quality standards
• To monitor and reduce wherever possible the costs without compromising on quality

Candidate Profile
• The candidate should have the experience and vision to enhance the role of the facility and also the stature to interact with senior management world -wide
• The candidate must be a seasoned technical professional with experience in software development from the requirements gathering to release. Networking knowledge is a must, knowledge of NP would be an added advantage.
• Masters Degree in Computer Science, or Bachelors in ECE, or Computer Science with 12+ year’s of relevant experience. 6+ years experience in a SQA leadership role.
• Highly focused on quality and yet retains flexibility in accepting new challenges to deliver.
• A team player who can interact across borders as well as between the facilities
• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Hands on in his/her style of management strong leadership and communications skills (both written and verbal) and the ability to build relationships at all levels.
• A high level of integrity, character and adaptability to differences and changes.
• A track record of good judgment and the ability to make timely, well informed decisions.
• The candidate should have a collaborative management style, however must be capable of setting the agenda, building support and making decisions.
• Demonstrate a passion for world-class innovations and cutting edge technology with a strong sense of urgency and desire to achieve.
• Must be a committed team player.
• Energetic and a strong driver/influencer.
• Approachable and open-minded but also confident and self-assured.
• He/She must be driven to deliver quality results on time and in a highly ethical and professional manner.

COMPENSATION:

The successful candidate will receive compensation and benefits package that is competitive and commensurate with his/her experience. Components include a base salary and performance-based bonus.
