A healthcare BPO industry located in Bangalore is looking out for “Linux Admin” having 5+ yrs of experience.
Job Title: Linux Admin
Exp: 5+ yrs (relevant)
Job Description
Ø Will be part of the Global NOC team 24/7.
Ø First Level fault analysis alerting operations staff to faults.
Ø Continual performance and availability monitoring of Network, Servers, Database and applications within defined Service Level Parameters.
Ø Identify Network / System problems as they occur, assess the consequences of the event and identify affected users and devices.
Ø Reduce the impact of Network / System outages by ensuring co-ordination between the various technical groups involved
Ø Reduce the length of outages or restoration time by ensuring that the necessary information reaches the individuals or groups who are primarily involved.
Ø Change control interacting with local support groups
Ø Identify, diagnose, test and resolve Network and Server performance problems in a multi-platform environment.
Ø Design, implement and undertake testing plans for the introduction of new platforms and systems.
Ø Undertake customer requested moves and changes to existing platforms.
Ø Achieve greater System and Network uptime and increase user satisfaction
Ø Automatic corrective action.
Ø Log files analysis/error checking.
Ø Database/SQL statistics.
Ø Greater operations control to support the real business.
Ø More efficient use of IT Infrastructure department staff.
Ø Coordinating Security Activities by responding to security incidents
Ø Design, implement and undertake testing plans for the introduction of new platforms and systems.
Ø Increase application availability & Reduce response times.
Ø Identify and rectify problems before they occur.
Ø Provide efficient management of server resources.
Ø Building processes for effective utilization of the deployed infrastructure.
Ø Develop disaster recovery systems and procedures to allow business continuity.
Ø Accelerated problem recovery and elimination of finger-pointing.
Ø Selecting the necessary tools and software for monitoring and trouble shooting.
Ø Implementing the necessary tools within the time frames and budgets.
Ø Continuously supporting and upgrading tools and applications.
Ø Implement small projects that improve IT Operations efficiency and effectiveness.
Ø The analysis of monitoring statistics, the writing of the interpretive part of reports, and any follow-up actions associated with poor performance.
Ø Produce management information reports and views.
Ø Real time, baseline and trend statistics,along with comprehensive reporting, including web-based, ad hoc report creation.
Ø Maintain currency with new development and technologies. Read journals and other publications. Attend trade expositions.
Ø Perform system recovery, backups and file retrievals for the servers. Provide detailed reports.
Ø Comprehensive reports for each service management level and quarterly review resulting in improved decision making and proactive planning.
Ø Liaise with staff in other deportments to ensure all issues of a technical nature are resolved appropriately.
Ø Sufficient coordination is applied to prevent operational breaks or errors arising from incompatibilities, insufficient notice about changes or insufficient information about changes.
Ø Log and report problems to 3rd party suppliers as required.
Ø Undertake destination re-routing as and when directed.
Ø Interface with the emergency operations planning and media relations groups during major events.
Ø Escalate any out-of-control events to the appropriate group or individuals.
Ø Undertake activities in support of central departmental functions as agreed with the manager.
Ø Undertake various other tasks on an occasional basis at the request of the manager and to a level commensurate with training, knowledge, grade and skills.
Ø Train new support staff in methodology and procedure of the IT Operations Centre.
Ø Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
Ø Its goal will be to ensure update documentation for unit policies and procedures. Compile technical activity logs.
Ø Automatic notification of critical events, corrective actions, and an extensive collection of troubleshooting information knowledge base.
Ø Write departmental operation guides.
Ø Train new support staff in methodology and procedures of Technical Support Group.
